When was the last time you had cheese curds? Most people would probably say the state or local county fair. For something as good as cheese curds, you should have the ability to buy fair-quality cheese curds year-round.

Today, I’ll be reviewing Culver’s Wisconsin Cheese Curds. How good are they? How much do they cost? What’s the nutritional value? Those questions and more will be answered in this review.

Culver’s claims to use the freshest yellow and white cheddar cheeses from the cheese head State, Wisconsin. They are deep-fried to perfection, giving it a nice golden brown outer layer. While not the healthiest food item on Culver’s menu, this is a classic appetizer that more places should carry.

Taste:

Who doesn’t like cheese? Even those that are lactose intolerant sometimes will suffer through it for the sake of it. Culver’s Wisconsin Cheese Curds are little morsels of deep-fried golden brown goodness. The lightly crispy outer crust holds in the delicious cheddar cheese found within. The medium (regular) size never seems like enough, so I always do a size upgrade. If I’m ordering a meal, I’ll go with a large one, but if I’m ordering cheese curds as my meal, I get the family size.

The perfect compliment to the cheese curds is the Ranch dipping sauce. Be mindful, however, adding ranch will increase the already high-calorie content.

I like Culver’s Wisconsin Cheese Curds a lot! They seem like a slightly healthier (less greasy) version of most festivals/fairs I’ve been to. I’m not sure if Culver’s cheese curds are “healthier” or not, but that’s my gut feeling.

Are Culver’s Cheese Curds worth it?

They are worth trying if you love your Local / State Fair’s cheese curds. They might hold you over until the next fair hits your area.

Next time you order a meal at Culver’s, ask them to replace the fries with cheese curds. Yeah, you’ll pay a bit more money, but come on, Culver’s fries aren’t that good, so you mine as well replace it with a good meal item like their Onion Rings or Cheese Curds.

You can pick up a box of Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks from your local grocery store if you want to satisfy your savory cheese craving without having fast food. It’s more budget-friendly.
